Quite a few of our regular customers are addicted to our burritos…….. and you know who you are.

Some of you have moved away from Wayne County but still come back often for more of our jumbo sized burritos.

Recently, a young woman stationed at SJAFB was transferred to Alaska. From there she was later sent to Langley, Virginia for a few weeks of special training…..and from there she borrowed a car and made the 560 mile round trip just for the burrito.

See if you recognize yourself in this burrito lovers TOP TEN LIST!

#10 – You know that there are 384,912 possible burrito combinations…. not because of your math skills, but because you have personally ordered at least one of each!

#9 – You dream in color…… but only in the primary tortilla colors of sundried tomato red, spinach green, cheddar jalapeno orange, traditional tortilla white and honey wheat tan.

#8 – You are unable to drive down Berkeley Blvd or Spence Ave without fighting the urge to turn down Cashwell Drive.

#7 – You have secretly clipped all of the Bonfire coupons from the Yellow Pages at work AND from the phone books of all your friends.

#6 – Bonfire’s Tortila Bar is NUMBER ONE on your speed dial.

#5 – You insist that your friends call you by your nickname…. “THE BEASTMASTER”

#4 – Unless your family and friends are in the mood for a Bonfire Burrito they NEVER ask you where you would like to have lunch.

#3 – You turned down a lucrative job offer from Bill Gates because relocating more than thirty minutes from Bonfire’s was out of the question.

#2 – If you miss a day at the Bonfire, the staff will send the police to your house to check on you.

And the Number One Sign that you might be addicted to Bonfire Burritos is…………..

#1 – You have amassed the largest ball of tin foil in the Tri-State area.

Josh Marquez responded with his answer of 384, 912. Josh says that he arrived at this figure by assuming the following:

6 wraps x 6 freebie options x 9 veggie options x 6 salsa options x 9 sauce options x 22 meat and veggie options

Josh did not include the option of sour cream and/or guacamole.

Josh told us that his favorite Bonfire combination is Carne Asada on a Cheddar Jalapeno tortilla with refried beans, rice, light lettuce, with lots of cheese. For his effort Josh won a gift certificate worth $25.00 at Bonfire’s Tortilla Bar.

What makes a Bonfire Burrito unique? Since opening in late 2003, we have been pleased with the positive response from the citizens of Goldsboro and the personnel at Seymour Johnson Air Force Base. We informally quiz newcomers as to how they have heard about Bonfire’s, and most of you respond that you have learned about us from co-workers or friends. We appreciate the good word of mouth. Your kind words make us feel like Wayne County’s Most Beloved Burrito Joint.

But, what makes customers buzz about a Bonfire’s. I feel that what makes our burritos unique are the flavored tortillas, the house recipe seasoning blends, and the salsas and sauces, and of course their monster size (the beast weighs in at around 2 1/2 pounds). Mostly though, YOU are what makes a Bonfire burrito unique. With so many toppings to choose from, the one that you create is assembled by our burrito technicians under your watchful eye and comes out uniquely yours.

Our tortillas come in six flavors. The cheddar jalapeno (very popular and contrary to it’s name – not spicy), the Traditional White Flour, the Spinach tortilla, the garlic and herb, the sun-dried tomato, and the honey wheat flavored tortilla. Each one adds its own interesting texture and mild flavor profile.

We take seasoning very seriously. With a name like Bonfire’s, some folks probably assume that we simply just add heat to everything. While we do have the ability to fire up your burrito with some insanely hot sauces, we also create our own mild fajita spice blends and marinades. We even blend our own garlic salt to suit our taste!

The real Bonfire difference is probably best defined by our salsa and sauces. We consider our salsas to be our chunkier recipes and our sauces to be our smoother recipes. We have 15 on hand to choose from and of those 11 are house originals and really define a Bonfire Burrito.

Another difference is the shear size of the dang things. They come in three sizes. The junior, is typically just under a pound and is for both adults and kids. The regular is our most popular size and weighs in around 1.25 to 1.5 pounds. The Beast is so large at 2.5 pounds that it is typically shared by two or devoured by one (usually just for the bragging rights!)

But, as I said earlier, YOU make the biggest difference! Each burrito is unique to you, the ultimate burrito connoisseur. There are literally thousands of possible combinations, but don’t feel overwhelmed. Just pick the toppings that YOU like and it will taste great.

Remember, Bonfires’ Tortilla Bar is where burritos are always in good taste!
